Our Story
How James and Tabitha Met
Tabitha and James met at their beloved alma mater, NC A&T during homecoming festivities in October of 2019. Tabitha was strolling through the tailgate section with two of her sorority sisters when one of them stopped to hang out with one of her friends. Out of nowhere, James pops out of the crowd from hanging out with his frat brother and asked Tabitha if she wanted something to drink. Something to drink?! Tabitha was not only thirsty for some water, she was irritated and hungry. Tabitha gave James the side-eye, being she doesn’t drink. According to James there was something different about Tabitha’s energy and he wanted to get to know her. James seized the moment by jumping in a group homecoming picture and inviting Tabitha to meet him at the All Black Affair. He prepared for his next move, but to his disappointment she didn’t show up.
With a desire to want to know her, James searched for Tabitha on social media. He engaged her on a post to see what type of personality she had. After volunteering Tabitha as his Dallas tour guide upon his next visit to the city, James began to pursue Tabitha on Facebook messenger. His messages were making her laugh, especially when he decided to provide her all of his academic and professional credentials (LMBO). She decided he would probably be a cool guy to know on that “Aggie Pride” level only, so she decided to give him her phone number. Within two seconds James called Tabitha and they talked and laughed for over two hours about so many things, including his pride and joy, Trey Thomas. He was very clear on that first call that he was looking for his soul mate and wanted to know if Tabitha was in that space. She had been praying and preparing for the man who would eventually find her.
After many conversations on the phone, Tabitha made plans to attend the 2019 Celebration Bowl in Atlanta, GA with her girls. Well, Tabitha admits now that she used this as an excuse to see what this James guy was all about. When he picked her up from the airport he had her favorite water waiting. He had been listening. All of sudden, he reaches over and softly held her hand, sending waves of love through her body. Tabitha knew this was the beginning of something special. They had lunch at what has become her favorite restaurant in Atlanta.
They parted ways and ended up seeing one another again at a Celebration Bowl party. Tabitha played it cool, while James hung out with his frat brothers. Before the night was over, Tabitha found herself sitting in James’s lap. Out of nowhere, he began to confess his love for her and they shared their first kiss. This was like something out of the movies! As fate would have it they ended up being the last two standing at the party. The cleanup crew nicely kicked them out and told them they had to leave (LOL)! Well, love was kindled; COVID hit two months later; and four years later, our love continues on!! They hash tagged #TNT (Tank and Tabitha) and the rest is history.
Moral of the story. If you see something that changes your spirit. GO seize the day!
